If you love goth fashion, you’ve probably heard of vampirefreaks.com. I buy a good deal of my clothing from them, and I’m not ashamed to admit it; they run the gambit from Victorian romantic to old-school skater punk, which means they have something for everyone, no matter your alternative style.
During Valentine’s Day, they put together a collection of existing products that suit the season. The clothes trend towards the more romantic, but there’s a good sprinkling of everything in the category, so it’s absolutely worth checking out even if none of my favorites speak to you.
Here’s my list of the best items (in my opinion, of course) from the collection, which you can find under its own tab on the site. As an aside, I am not sponsored, and I have not purchased these items myself; I’m only reviewing based on descriptions and aesthetics.
Blood Queen Maxi Dress from Punk Rave

I am absolutely OBSESSED with this Punk Rave dress. The lace detailing at the top is gorgeous, and I’m obsessed with anything with a leg slit. The closure at the back has both a zip closure and adjustable corset-style laces, but the aesthetic of this dress is what really sells it for me. For me, this would be a regular wear (I have a few similar dresses already), but it’s also a great vampiric costume option or formal piece for the goth in all of us.
Carpathian Rose Pendant from Alchemy

This Alchemy rose pendant is gorgeous. Made of English pewter with a resin rose and a cut crystal gem, the piece is Dracula inspired (according to its product photos and description!) They’re pictured on the site with Alchemy’s Empyrean Tear Red Crystal Earrings, so if you want a matching set, you can pick up some of those, too!
Queen of Tarts Red Velvet Ruffle Dress from Devil Fashion

This is definitely more of a party dress. Queen of Tarts is the perfect name for this Devil Fashion dress: the chain and ruffle detailing on the bodice is absolutely gorgeous without being over the top. The shoulder straps and back lacing on the dress are all adjustable. Just know that if you’re tall like me, the dress might be a tad short, but the ruffles should help to make up for that!
Dead Roses Fishnet Stockings from Leg Avenue

Like most Leg Avenue tights, these are hand-wash only and one size fits all, but I think the extra work is worth it for a pattern like this. The roses are incredibly distinguishable, even from a distance, and are a great addition to any outfit to make it more interesting.
Bat Bite T-shirt from VampireFreaks

This one’s a VampireFreaks original, and it’s been on my wishlist for a very long time. Handprinted in the USA, it’s available in tanktops, tees, longsleeves, and sweatshirts. The graphic is just beautiful; the bat biting the photorealistic heart needs to be integrated into my wardrobe ASAP. Most importantly, the printing looks the same on each separate product picture, which means the quality should be great.
Blood Drop Lace Cardigan from Dark in Love

I don’t have the words to describe how much I love this cardigan. (And, as an aside, the stylists for these photos never failed to amaze me. This outfit is gorgeous.) Dark in Love really outdid themselves; I’m obsessed with the sheer lace, the deep red trim, and the gorgeous throat clasp. If you love a dramatic sleeve the way I do, this is a great way to add one to your wardrobe without having to commit to one all day.
Cabernet Sauvignon Velvet Skirt from Punk Rave

Another entrant from Punk Rave, this high-waisted skirt is a very specific addition to any closet, so I’d suggest building some vampy outifts around it before you buy. That doesn’t mean I don’t love it, though: I adore the ruching and the color of the velvet. The long mermaid skirt has adjustable front and back lacing and a side zip close. The description also says it’s stretchy, so it’s definitely not as rigid as it looks.
Betrothal Choker from Alchemy

Okay, I might just be a sucker for Alchemy’s accessories. Can you blame me, though? I think the only downside to this piece is that you have to handtie it, which is difficult to do on your own (especially since it uses black ribbon). That being said, the English pewter detailing and the enamel heart are absolutely gorgeous, so if you have some extra helping hands (or a lot of faith in yourself), I’d definitely pick this up.
Demonia Patent Heart Batwing Backpack from Demonia

Demonia is best known for their shoes, but their bags should definitely not be overlooked. This one in particular is one of my favorites of all time (if I didn’t already have a very similar black backpack, I’d pick this up myself). This bag features zip pockets on the inside, adjustable straps, and measures 13.5″ x 9″ x 3″.
Merlot Lace-Up Corset Top from Dark in Love

Dark in Love is rapidly climbing to the top of my favorites list as far as goth brands go. This lace-up corset-style tanktop is absolutely beautiful (and also has a side-zip closure so you don’t have to unlace and relace it each time). I’m not always the biggest fan of a princess V-waist, but the paneling on this tanktop adds much-needed length to make the style work. The straps are adjustable, too!
Skeleton Couple Kissing Statue from Pacific Giftware

This is a houseware statuette, not a clothing piece, but I just couldn’t leave it off the list. There’s nothing quite as goth as this, and whose first wedding anniversary is rapidly approaching, I might have to pick this up for my household. Made of cast resin, each one of these statues is handpainting and stands at 7 3/8″ X 4 3/4″ X 13 3/8″.
Merlot Long Sleeve Lace Shirt from Punk Rave

We close out the list with another Punk Rave piece (pictured here with the skirt from above!) The shoulder padding on this longsleeve lace shirt really puts it over the top for me; it adds a little extra structure to what could be a very simple shirt. The scallop trim on the neckline is subtle enough that it doesn’t look old-fashioned, and the sleeves are slightly flared. It reminds me of something Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer would wear.
These are my personal favorite items from the V-Day collection on VampireFreaks; the list would have been too long had I included each and every item I adored.
